Krauss-Maffei Wegmann on its acquisition of WFEL

KG (KMW), European market leader for highly protected wheeled and tracked vehicles, on its acquisition of WFEL, the UK-based manufacturer of mobile tactical bridging, for an undisclosed amount. KMW is a privately-owned business with a global infrastructure seeking to expand into complementary markets. Founded as the Fairey Aviation Company in 1915, WFEL has transformed itself, using its excellent engineering skills to establish itself in a niche market and is now the world's leading manufacturer of bridging systems.This transaction brings together two well-established companies, both leaders in their areas of specialisation and is a strategic fit in the tactical bridging area of operations.
